Youngest Ever Speaker Moderates Session at Lahore Literary Festival

Islamabad-based Headstart school’s Deputy Headboy, Faris Ahmed, became the youngest speaker ever at the prestigious Lahore Literary Festival (LLF).

The closing day of the three-day event, held at the Alhamra Arts Center, saw Ahmed moderating the session “Superhero Myth-making.”

Ahmed, known for his eloquent passion for graphic novels, was handpicked by the panelists to lead the discussion. The panel featured notable personalities such as Fatimah Asghar, co-writer and co-producer of Disney+’s Ms. Marvel; journalist and educator Jahanzeb Aslam; and celebrated graphic novelist Mudassar Butt. The session drew a packed audience, eager to engage with the dynamic topic and its distinguished speakers.

LLF, recognized as Pakistan’s premier annual international cultural event, has garnered attention from major global media outlets including Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, BBC, and Al Jazeera. The festival’s illustrious history boasts previous speakers such as Nobel laureates Malala Yousafzai, Orhan Pamuk, and Abdulrazak Gurnah.

Journalist and bestselling author Ahmed Rashid, who attended the talk, commended moderator Ahmed for his disciplined command of the discussion, highlighting the young moderator’s impressive contribution to the festival.
