Security forces this week eliminated at least 30 India-backed terrorists trying to infiltrate through the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.
The military’s media wing said the movement of a large group of “khwarij” (terrorists) of “Indian proxy Fitna-al-Khwarij” was detected near the border area in Hassan Khel on the nights of July 1/2 and July 2/3. It said troops had engaged the infiltrators and thwarted their infiltration attempt with “precise and skillful engagement,” resulting in all 30 Indian-sponsored terrorists being “sent to hell.”
A significant quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was recovered from the neutralized terrorists, said ISPR. “The security forces demonstrated exceptional professionalism, vigilance and preparedness, and prevented a potential catastrophe,” it added.
The military’s media wing urged the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan to prevent the use of their soil by “foreign proxies” for orchestrating terrorist activities against Pakistan. “The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers and to eradicate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,” it said.
Last week, 13 Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred when an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into a security forces’ vehicle in North Waziristan. Reacting to the attack, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir had vowed that all facilitators, abettors, and perpetrators of terrorism would be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice without exception and at all costs.
