Security forces have neutralized 17 “India-backed” terrorists in intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the military’s media wing said the IBOs took place in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Ketch districts in response to a suicide bombing targeting a train on May 24. “During the conduct of these operations, own troops effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations. Following intense and fierce exchanges of fire, 17 terrorists belonging to India-sponsored Fitna al-Hindustan have been sent to hell, giving a significant blow to the terrorist networks operating in these areas,” it added.
The ISPR further said security forces had recovered weapons, ammunition, a large cache of explosives and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
The IBOs followed the May 24 suicide bombing that targeted a railway track, killing at least 14 people and injuring dozens more.
