A high-level business delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council Chairman Prince Mansour bin Mohammad al-Saud, arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties.
In a statement, the Foreign Office said the delegation would conduct meetings with the Pakistani leadership. It would also engage with senior government officials, chambers of commerce and leading business groups to explore avenues for enhanced bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
“The visit underscores the deep-rooted and brotherly ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reflects their shared commitment to expanding economic and investment partnerships under the framework of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council,” read the statement.
It said the discussions are anticipated to focus on trade and investment facilitation, as well as collaboration across priority sectors in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s economic growth agenda.
The visit follows last month’s inking of a “Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement” between Islamabad and Riyadh under which both have pledged to treat any attack on either nation as an act of aggression against both. In recent weeks, senior Pakistani officials have indicated that the agreement could prove a herald for a “Muslim NATO,” adding several other Gulf states are also interested in similar pacts.
