Remittances from overseas Pakistanis in July showed significant growth compared with the preceding month, according to the latest data issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday.
The central bank’s figures show inflows up 13% compared to the same month last year, clocking in at $3.6 billion against $3.2 billion a year earlier. Month-on-month, the growth was 4.5%. In the federal budget for FY2026-27, the government set a target of $44 billion in remittances, up from $41.5 billion in FY26.
The trend continues to show remittances outpacing export revenues, which stood at $2.94 billion in July.
The major corridors of workers’ remittances in July were Saudi Arabia ($913.9 million), the U.A.E. ($737.3 million), the U.K. ($555.5 million), the U.S. ($317.2 million), and E.U. countries ($452 million).
