Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Gohar Ali Khan on Thursday demanded incarcerated party founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra be immediately shifted to hospital for treatment and medical tests under the supervision of their personal physicians.
In a statement on X, Gohar said he was told on Thursday morning that Bushra was taken to hospital the previous night for eye laser treatment before being shifted back to Adiala Jail. “I have requested for family meeting today. Awaiting that—we have grave concerns about Khan [sahib] and Bushra Bibi’s health,” he wrote.
The PTI chairman reiterated the PTI’s demand for both the former prime minister and former first lady’s shifting to hospital “for treatment and medical tests in the presence of their family members under the supervision of their doctors.” He stressed that it was “time to change this seek and hide approach to their health issues. Concern is growing. Immediate attention is required.”
According to local media, Bushra was shifted to Rawalpindi’s Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital late on Wednesday for a scheduled follow-up examination of her right eye. After examination and treatment, she was taken back to the jail.
Doctors had conducted Bushra’s eye surgery at the same hospital last month after she complained of impaired vision. Khan, similarly, has been to hospital several times for treatment of his right eye.
