The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) on Sunday announced that customers may face internet service degradation during evening hours from May 11-18 amidst maintenance work on one of its submarine cables.
In a post on X, the company said the maintenance activity on one of its submarine cables by the International Cable Consortium aims to repair a fault. “Due to this maintenance, which will begin from tomorrow (Monday) and which can last for seven days, customers may have to face disruption in their internet service,” it added.
This is the second consecutive month that PTCL has issued a warning of internet disruptions due to a fault in its submarine cables. Last month, the telecommunications company had posted a similar announcement of maintenance from April 14-20, warning of service disruptions during the repair work.
