Pakistan’s Exports to Kenya Surge by 32% in July 2025-March 2026

Pakistan’s exports to Kenya have recorded a significant increase during the first nine months (July 2025–March 2026) of FY2025–26, surging by 32% over the corresponding period last fiscal year.

Data available with the Ministry of Commerce, through its Trade Analytics Portal, shows exports to Kenya during the first nine months of FY26 reached $319.9 million against $251.6 million during the same period last year. This positions Kenya among Pakistan’s top five export destinations globally and firmly establishes it as the largest export destination in Africa.

“Pakistan’s growing footprint in the Kenyan market is highly encouraging for our export sector,” said Rafique Suleman, president of the Pakistan Kenya Business Council. “Rice exports have played a pivotal role in driving this growth, while access through Mombasa has enabled Pakistani products to penetrate not only Kenya but the broader East African region,” he added.

According to Suleman, Pakistan is exporting a diversified range of products to Kenya, including used clothing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, garments, sports goods, I.T. services and software solutions, as well as solar and renewable energy products, which are steadily gaining traction in the East African market.

He said the Port of Mombasa serves as a key trade gateway for the region, facilitating the movement of Pakistani goods to neighboring countries such as Uganda, South Sudan, Rawanda, and beyond, thereby amplifying Pakistan’s export reach.

Extending special thanks to the Government of Pakistan and key stakeholders for their support, he acknowledged the leadership of Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, crediting his policy direction for significantly contributing to export growth. He also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Ibrahim Khan, and Commercial Counsellor Adila Younis for their active role in strengthening bilateral trade relations.

Furthermore, Suleman recognized the valuable contributions of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan Senior Vice Chairman Javed Jelani for his continuous support and guidance to exporters and for promoting the rice sector in international markets.

The Pakistan Kenya Business Council president emphasized that ongoing efforts by Pakistan’s leadership to promote peace and stability in the region are commendable. He noted the crucial role of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in de-escalating tensions and fostering regional stability, emphasizing that a peaceful and stable environment would pave the way for enhanced trade opportunities and open new avenues for Pakistan’s exports globally.

The Pakistan Kenya Business Council and the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan reaffirmed their intent to continue providing full support and facilitation to exporters, ensuring this positive momentum is sustained and further strengthened in future.
