P.M. Sharif Invites Saudi Businesses to Explore Investment in Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday invited Saudi businesses to explore opportunities for investment in Pakistan under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

The prime minister is currently on a four-day official visit to Saudi Arabia aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing economic cooperation, and promoting investment between the two nations. In a meeting with Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih and Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri, head of the Joint Task Force for Economic Engagement, he discussed strengthening economic cooperation, attracting Saudi investments, and expediting joint initiatives in key sectors.

According to a statement, the premier extended best wishes to the Gulf kingdom’s leadership and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating Saudi investors. Highlighting the country’s strategic position and investment-friendly policies, Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s vast potential in energy, infrastructure, agriculture and technology. He also invited Saudi businesses to explore opportunities under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

The Saudi officials expressed their country’s strong interest in deepening economic ties with Pakistan. They discussed enhancing institutional collaboration to accelerate investment projects and ensure their smooth implementation.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen the Pak-Saudi economic partnership through structured engagements and swift execution of joint projects. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to fostering a long-term, mutually beneficial economic relationship.

Apart from the prime minister, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar; Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz; Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik; and SIFC National Coordinator Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ahmed also participated in the meeting. The Saudi delegation included representatives of the Saudi Ministry of Investment and the Joint Task Force for Economic Engagement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
