According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Sharif issued the directions while chairing a meeting to review reform measures in the power sector. He called for a comprehensive strategy to meet future energy needs through renewable sources, noting increased generation from hydropower, solar energy, biogas and other renewables would help reduce production costs and positively impact economic growth.

Similarly, they claimed, recovery of electricity bills improved from 90% in June 2024 to 96.46% in March 2026.
