The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Monday issued an advisory warning of a heatwave in most parts of the country from Tuesday (today) until April 27 (Sunday).
According to the advisory, “dry and hot weather” will be experienced across Punjab. In Balochistan and Sindh, it has forecast dry and “very hot” conditions. Hot weather is also expected in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, however the advisory noted that cloudy skies and isolated rainfall may occur in Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Charsadda, Chital, Dir, Haripur, Karak, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Mohmand, Nowshera, Peshawar, Swabi, Swat, Waziristan and surrounding areas.
In Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the advisory has forecast hot conditions with scattered rainfall.
The NDMA has urged citizens to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions during the hot spell.
