Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik on Wednesday met Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nassar Abdulrahman J. Almutairi and thanked him for his country’s two-year extension to an oil credit facility for Pakistan.
Malik, read a statement issued by the Petroleum Ministry, expressed gratitude for the support of brotherly countries like Kuwait, stressing this had proven pivotal for the structural reforms that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has spearheaded since assuming office.
Commending Pakistan’s economic progress, the Kuwaiti ambassador particularly appreciated the ongoing stabilizing of the economy and improvements in the investment climate. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s growth trajectory and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to deepening economic and energy partnerships between the two nations.
The petroleum minister acknowledged and appreciated Kuwait over its special accommodation for Pakistan. He noted that ties between Pakistan State Oil and Kuwait Petroleum were progressing positively, adding the Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company was already in the exploration sector and its interest in offshore exploration was a welcome development.
Discussions between the two officials primarily focused on strengthening bilateral energy cooperation and exploring avenues for investment in Pakistan’s petroleum sector. Malik thanked the ambassador for Kuwait’s continued support and emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to fostering stronger ties with Gulf nations, particularly in energy and trade. He noted that the prime minister has utmost love and appreciation for the Kuwaiti brethren, Amir of Kuwait and Crown Prince.
The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to build on the unwavering relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait.
