International Jazz Festival Kicks Off at Al-Hamra

The two-day International Jazz Festival 2025, organized by the Lahore Jazz Club, kicks off at the Al-Hamra Arts Council on Saturday, featuring artists from across the world in live concerts.

The fourth edition of the annual event features jazz artists from Spain, Portugal, Austria, Poland, and Pakistan, uniting to bring music to audiences in Lahore. Gates open at 6 p.m. on both days, with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. and concluding at 10 p.m.

Among artists appearing From Pakistan is actress, model and singer Anzeela Abbasi, who will grace the stage with her soulful vocals on Saturday. The first day’s performances also include pianist Falk Bonitz and saxophonist Anton Pyvovarov from Austria and the Jah Trio from Poland.

Sunday’s performances will kick off with Juan Ortiz, a multi-awarded jazz pianist from Bilbao, Spain. Guitarist Pedro Joia from Portugal and Pakistan’s own Romessa Tariq would also take the stage.

“Am thrilled to see that even at the peak of summer, Lahore’s Al-Hamra, which till a few years back was underutilized for the arts, has become the city’s most cherished venue for entertainment and a rallying center for championing creativity from across the world,” said Razi Ahmed, chairman of the Lahore Arts Council.

“The Jazz Festival is an embodiment of that, showcasing towering voices from Europe and Pakistan. I am sure that with each passing year, the Jazz Fest would become an even greater attraction for our citizens to seek solace and leisure from,” he added.

Supported by the embassies of Poland, Spain, Portugal, and Austria, the event marks a significant step in strengthening artistic and cultural ties between the nations and Pakistan.
