Fight against Terrorism to Continue till Lasting Peace Achieved: CDF Munir

Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Thursday said the fight against terrorism will continue with full national resolve until lasting peace and stability are achieved across the country.

Addressing the investiture ceremony at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, he also paid tribute to martyrs and veterans, describing them as the “pride of the nation.” Their sacrifices, he said, represented a sacred trust for Pakistan.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the field marshal conferred military awards upon soldiers and officers of armed forces to recognize their exceptional bravery during operations and meritorious services rendered to the nation. “Decorations conferred included 50 Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-e-Basalat. Medals awarded posthumously were received with honor by families of Shuhada,” it said.

During his address, the CDF said the country’s peace and security are owed to the “supreme sacrifices and unwavering devotion to duty” of its armed forces personnel. He also appreciated the resilience and dignity of the families of Shuhada, acknowledging their continued sacrifices for the country.
