The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) on Monday announced total sales of 13,280 vehicles during December 2025, noting this reflects a 35% year-on-year increase but a 14% month-on-month decline.
In a statement, PAMA credited the year-on-year surge to new entrants in the market, as well as a lower interest rate, easing inflation, and improving macroeconomic sentiments. The monthly decline, it said, was primarily due to the end-of-year effect, with buyers delaying deliveries and new purchases in anticipation of new year registrations.
PAMA said sales for the first half of FY26 (July-December) stood at 88,322 units, a 46% year-on-year rise from the 60,676 units sold in the first half of FY25. Company-wise, it said Honda Atlas Cars had posted a year-on-year growth of 75%, selling 1,943 units in December 2025. Of the company’s models, sales of City and Civic rose 79% year-on-year to 1,739 units, while sales of the BRV and HRV models rose 46% year-on-year to 204 units.
Indus Motor Company, read the statement, reported year-on-year growth of 40% to 2,312 units. Corolla, Yaris and Cross sales together recorded a 83% year-on-year growth with 2,116 units, though their monthly tally declined by 35%. Fortuner and IMVs declined 61% year-on-year and 67% month-on-month to 196 units.
Hyundai Nishat reported year-on-year growth of 11% as well as 2% growth month-on-month, primarily due to a 105% and 52% year-on-year rise in sales of Sonata and Elantra models, respectively.
Sazgar Engineering reported sales of 1,165 units in December 2025, up 5% month-on-month.
The Pak Suzuki Moto Company reported modest growth of 9% year-on-year with 6,531 units sole, mainly due to a nearly 12x rise in sales of the Every model (1,330 units) as well as a 51% increase in Swift sales (1,009 units).
Sales of two- and three-wheelers increased by 36% year-on-year, while recording a decline of 3% on month-on-month basis to 160,408 units in December 2025.
