The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) on Tuesday announced 3.926 million tons of cement sales in October 2025, up from 3.409 million tons in October 2024, an increase of 15.17%.
However, the APCMA said export dispatches had declined by 23.44%, going from 1.081 million tons in October 2024 to 0.827 million tons in the same month this year.
Overall, total cement dispatches in October 2025 clocked in at 4.754 million tons in October 2025, against 4.490 million tons from the same month last year, a marginal growth of 5.87%.
In October 2025, North based cement mills dispatched 3.525 million tons of cement, an increase of 15.03% against the 3.064 million tons dispatched in October 2024. South based mills dispatched 1.23 million tons of cement during October 2025, 13.81% lower than the 1.425 million tons dispatched during October 2024.
North based cement mills dispatched 3.379 million tons of cement in domestic markets in October 2025, an increase of 18.07% against the 2.862 million tons dispatched in October 2024. South based mills dispatched 547,661 tons of cement in local markets during October 2025, nearly the same as the 547,611 tons dispatched during October 2024.
Exports from North based mills dropped by 27.79%, as quantities reduced from 202,858 tons in October 2024 to 146,478 tons in October 2025. Exports from South also reduced by 22.43% to 680,903 tons in October 2025 from 877,833 tons during the same month last year.
During the first four months of the current fiscal year, total cement dispatches (domestic and exports) were 17.265 million tons, 15.48% higher than the 14.951 million tons dispatched during same period last fiscal year. Domestic dispatches during this period were 13.849 million tons against 11.728 million tons during the same period last year, an increase of 18.09%. Export dispatches were 5.97% more as the volumes increased to 3.416 million tons during the first four months of current fiscal year compared to 3.223 million tons of exports done during same period last fiscal year.
North based mills dispatched 11.739 million tons cement domestically during the first four months of current fiscal year, an increase of 18.46% over the dispatches of 9.910 million tons during July-October 2024. Exports from North also increased by 13.84% percent to 808,344 tons during July-October 2025, against 710,059 tons exported during the same period last year. Total dispatches by North based mills increased by 18.15% to 12.547 million tons during first four months of the current financial year from 10.620 million tons during same period of last financial year.
Domestic dispatches by South based mills during July-October 2025 were 2.110 million tons, 16.07% higher than the 1.818 million tons of cement dispatched during the same period of last fiscal year. Exports from South also increased by a marginal 3.75% to 2.607 million tons during July-October 2025, against 2.513 million tons exported during the same period last year. Total dispatches by South based mills increased by 8.92% to 4.718 million tons during first four months of current financial year from 4.331 million tons during same period of last financial year.
An APCMA spokesman said the decline in exports during the past two months was a matter of concern. “If this trend continues, it may dent our hopes of cement sector revival,” he said, calling on the government to take export-friendly measures to make cement more competitive and attractive for foreign markets.
