The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) on Thursday revealed that its cement dispatches in the first quarter (July-September) of the ongoing fiscal year totaled 12.161 million tons, 16.25% higher than the 10.461 million tons dispatched in the same period last year.
Domestic dispatches during this period stood at 9.573 million tons against 8.319 million tons last year, an increase of 15.08%. Exports, meanwhile, increased by 20.81%, going from 2.143 million tons last year to 2.589 million tons this year.
The APCMA noted its dispatches had increased by 31.24% month on-month in July 2025 and 13.47% in August 2025, adding the month-on-month increase for September was 7.05%. Total cement dispatches during September 2025 stood at 4.250 million tons against 3.970 million tons during September 2024.
In September 2025, North based cement mills despatched3.162 million tons cement showing an increase of 16.41% against 2.717 million tons despatches in September 2024. South based mills despatched 1.09 million tons cement during September 2025that was 13.23% less compared to the despatches of1.253 million tons during September 2024.
North based mills dispatched 8.010 million tons cement domestically during the first three months of the current fiscal year, an increase of 13.65% over the 7.048 million tons from July-September 2024. Exports increased by 30.49% to 661,866 tons during July-September 2025, against the 507,201 tons exported during the same period last year. Total dispatches by North based mills increased by 14.78% to 8.672 million tons during the first three months of the current financial year, against 7.555 million tons during same period of the last financial year.
Domestic dispatches by South based mills during July-September 2025 stood at 1.562 million tons, an increase of 22.99% over the 1.270 million tons of cement dispatched during the same period last year. Exports increased by 17.80% to 1.926 million tons during July-September 2025 compared to the 1.636 million tons exported during the same period last year. Total dispatches by south based Mills increased by 20.07% to 3.489 million tons during first three months of the current financial year from 2.906 million tons during the same period of the last financial year.
Local dispatches
The industry’s local cement dispatches during September 2025 stood at 3.418 million tons, against the 2.988 million tons of September 2024, an increase of 14.38%. Export dispatches, however, declined by 15.25%, going from 981,646 tons in September 2024 to 831,966 tons in September 2025.
North based cement mills dispatched 2.941 million tons in domestic markets in September 2025, 17.02% higher than the 2.513 million tons dispatched in September 2024. South based mills dispatched 476,465 tons of cement in local markets during September 2025, 0.41% more than the 474,528 tons of September 2024.
Exports
Exports from North based mills increased by 8.84%, going from 203,280 tons in September 2024 to 221,252 tons in September 2025. Exports from South reduced by 21.54% to 610,714 tons in September 2025, against 778,366 tons during the same month last year.
A spokesman of the APCMA said we can achieve even better growth provided the government gives concessions on duties and taxes, stressing this would ultimately benefit the end consumer. Significant rehabilitation works are required in the aftermath of the devastating floods and we expect co-operation from the government, he added.
