Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti on Monday ordered strict action against any government employees and officers involved in anti-state activities.
Chairing a high-level meeting on the law and order situation in Quetta, he directed divisional and deputy commissioners to identify and act against any officials engaged in activities against the state’s interests. He made clear that no government employee could undermine state policies, warning that violators will face penalties.
“The government stays firm in its stance against elements challenging state authority,” he said, emphasizing that adherence to official policies is a fundamental duty of all public servants.
Reaffirming that maintaining security and upholding the state’s authority were top priorities, Bugti emphasized zero tolerance for attempts to block roads. He said every district officer was responsible for ensuring law enforcement in his jurisdiction.
On corruption within law enforcement agencies, the chief minister lashed out over extortion at security checkpoints, warning any officer found involved in such activities would be immediately removed. He also stressed that individual opinions must not take precedence over state policies, urging officers to either comply with government directives or step down voluntarily.
Further, Bugti ordered officials to ensure the national anthem is sung, and the Pakistani flag hoisted, in all educational institutions. He said anyone who did not wish to enforce this practice should resign.
Highlighting the need to engage Baloch youth in positive activities, he said misleading them into unnecessary conflicts serves no purpose.
