The commander of the Bahrain National Guard on Tuesday praised the Armed Forces of Pakistan for their contributions toward regional peace and stability, while expressing interest in further cooperation between the two states in training and capacity-building initiatives.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen. Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa held separate meetings with the tri-services chiefs while visiting Pakistan, focusing on bilateral collaboration.
A meeting between Gen. Mohammad and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi saw both officials emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral military cooperation, read the statement. “During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security environment, and avenues for enhanced bilateral defense and security cooperation were discussed,” it added.
The military’s media wing said Field Marshal Munir and Gen. Mohammad also expressed satisfaction over the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain.
Also on Tuesday, the Bahraini official held separate meetings with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. His meeting at Naval Headquarters, read the ISPR statement, focused on bilateral defense collaboration and regional security dynamics.
The visiting official commended the Pakistan Navy’s constructive role in advancing cooperative maritime security across the region, expressing appreciation for its role as the regional maritime security stabilizer.
During the meeting at Air Headquarters, meanwhile, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu highlighted the Pakistan Air Force’s modernization efforts, including capability enhancement, infrastructure development, indigenization, and advanced training reforms.
The discussions between the air chief and Bahrain’s commander also focused on emerging defense technologies such as drones, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced sensors, and digital innovation, as well as evolving air defense challenges and integrated defense architectures.
According to the ISPR, Gen. Mohammad praised the modernization initiatives and indigenous capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces. It said the visit reflected the strong and enduring defense partnership between Pakistan and Bahrain, adding the visit was expected to further advance bilateral military cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.
