Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Friday voiced confidence that Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism would reach its logical conclusion of success against all forms and manifestations of terrorism.
Addressing student officers and faculty at Quetta’s Command and Staff College, he informed them of the character of emerging conflict, with particular emphasis on India’s increasingly dangerous propensity to use unprovoked military aggression against Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), he reiterated the resolve to defeat any aggression and ability to deal with threats across the entire conflict spectrum. Asserting that Pakistan would never be coerced, he vowed that inimical designs aimed at distracting Pakistan’s efforts against the war on terrorism would be comprehensively defeated.
For strategic stability of South Asia, read the military’s statement, the Army chief emphasized the need for peaceful resolution of the longstanding internationally recognized Kashmir dispute. He also warned against the unlawful and legally untenable “hydro terrorism” of India while referring to Delhi’s decision to “hold in abeyance” the Indus Water Treaty.
Highlighting India’s role in sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan, he also informed the participants of the reinvigorated counter-terrorism drive.
Paying tribute to the Shuhada of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and expressing complete solidarity with their family members, Field Marshal Munir said that under the national leadership, the people of Pakistan became a wall of steel for the defense of the motherland. Praising the professionalism of the armed forces, he reiterated that the success of Markae Haq was testimony to our national resolve, and complete synergy among all elements of national power.
During his address, the Army chief advised the student officers to fulfill their obligations with utmost dedication, passion and resolve. Emphasizing the need for innovative thinking and research, he lauded the Command and Staff College for grooming future military leaders who uphold the highest standards of this sacred profession. “Training must reflect not only the current realities but also prepare us for the future battlefield, one that demands agility, innovation, and unwavering resolve,” he said.
Earlier, upon his arrival to Quetta, Commander Quetta Corps and Commandant Command and Staff College Quetta received the Field Marshal.
